How Dutas Prevents Hairloss Dutas works by blocking enzymes that break down testosterone and turn it into dehydrotestosterone (DHT). It is the increased levels of DHT that causes baldness or hair thinning in men. Recommended Dosage of Dutas Generally one capsule taken daily daily is the recommended dosage. The capsules must be swallowed whole. You are recommended to follow your doctors prescribed advice when taking this medication. Side Effects of Dutas Some of the reported side effects from taking Dutas (Dutasteride) include decreased sexual desire and/or performance, and breast enlargement and/or tenderness (gynecomastia). The side effects are less common and less severe than Finasteride. These side effects have been known to reduce or disappear as the course of the treatment continues and should also disappear when course of treatment has been completed. Precautions When Taking Dutasteride Women should avoid this medication if they are pregnant or considering pregnancy. This medication can cause defects to the fetus.
