Tretinoin is the generic name for Retin-A. Tretinoin is normally used in the topical treatment of acne and is also used to treat the visible signs of aging. Topical Tretinoin can diminish the lines on the face and can help face age spots.

Tretinoin or Retin-A is also used in conjunction with topical Minoxidil in the treatment of male pattern hair loss or androgenetic alopecia. Topical Tretinoin appears to increase the beneficial effect of Minoxidil.

Studies have shown that Tretinoin creates and increases the absorption of Minoxidil through the skin and scalp when used in conjunction with Tretinoin.

Tretinoin can make your skin more sensitive to sunburn. Avoid too much sun. Do not use tanning booths, protect the area of treatment with hats and sunscreen.
